A Tale of Two IV's

We just spent a very long, rough night in the hospital.

Rex thought the best part of his hospital stay was flirting with all the cute nurses... or was that his dad?....
Rex thought the worst part was getting held down and poked a dozen times while being constantly attacked with the cold stethoscope.

Kay thought the best part of the hospital stay was hearing Rex say "mama" for the first time.
Kay thought the worst part was hearing Rex say "mama" for the first time (he was saying it while they held him down and tried, 6 different times, to get his IV in).

Bo thought the best part of the hospital stay was... nothing. He didn't enjoy it at all.
Bo thought the worst part was having to sleep at the hospital.

Boo thought the best part of Rex's hospital stay was getting to have a sleepover at Sally's house and getting her nails painted.
Boo thought the worst part was missing her parents.

Rex thought the best part of his hospital stay was getting held by his mom for 2 straight days.
Rex thought the worst part was the breathing treatments and nurses with cold hands.

Kay thought the best part of the hospital stay was getting released and going home!
Kay thought the worst part was having her 9-month old hospitalized because he has severe croup being made worse by the possibility of early asthma and a viral infection in his lungs.

Bo thought the best part of the hospital stay was taking two days off work.
Bo thought the worst part was watching the hospital staff poke Rex over and over while joking about it. He was pretty mad...

Boo thought the best part of Rex's hospital stay was playing games and watching movies at Sally's house.
Boo thought the worst part was that she missed her brother.

Rex thought the best part of his hospital stay was finally getting that darn IV taken out of his thumb-suckin' arm. Twice.
Rex thought the worst part was having to get 2 different IV's.

Kay thought the best part of the hospital stay was that at least it wasn't RSV or pneumonia.
Kay thought the worst part of the hospital stay was not getting more than 7 hours of sleep in 2 nights.

Bo thought the best part of the hospital stay was cute nurses. ☺
Bo thought the worst part of the hospital stay was the cute nurses, they came on shift as we were being released.

Boo thought the best part of Rex's hospital stay was coming home to make sure Rex was healthy.
Boo thought the worst part was that even though Rex is sick, she is too and has to take yucky medicine like him.

A Look Back...

7 years ago... I slept in my queen sized bed with two other girls (Carrie and Becka, you aren't very good bed mates)
This morning... I was woken up by my wonderful husband as he kissed me goodbye before he left for work.

7 years ago... I got up at 6:00am to go get my hair done, got my stuff together and had a peaceful drive to the temple with Bo to be there by 9:00.
Today... I woke up with 2 kids that had somehow managed to make their way into my bed in Bo's absence, and finally got out of bed just before 9:00.

7 years ago... I was sealed to my wonderful husband for time and all eternity.
Today... I'm tending to a very sick 4-year old and a baby who is into everything and hopefully will work in some time to spend with Bo.

7 years ago... We stopped at circle K on our way home from the temple because I was craving a diamond back hot dog.
Today... my 4 year will probably have a hot dog for lunch because she loves them.

7 years ago... We helped decorate for our reception.
Today... I'm reorganizing my pantry because my wonderful husband built me new pantry shelves (I helped a little too).

7 years ago... We had pizza for lunch at the church.
Today... I'm thinking I'll order pizza for dinner tonight because I'm worn out from sick kids and don't feel like cooking.

7 years ago... We spent 3 hours in a reception line, talking with people and doing all those fun reception things.
Today... I hope to put the kids to bed early and spend the evening on the couch watching a movie with Bo.

7 years ago... I spent a wonderful, first day with my new husband.
Today... he's at work until 3:30 and then we'll spend the rest of the day still enjoying each others company.

7 years ago... we were in our 20's.
Today... we still are.

7 years ago...I drove a Stratus, Bo drove a Ford truck.
Today... I've had 3 different cars since then and now drive a Sante Fe, Bo still drives his ol' truck.
7 years ago... we moved into our first place together.
Today... we've lived 6 different places, owned 2 houses and are ready for another moved to have more space.

7 years ago... I married my best friend.
Today... he's still is.

7 years ago... We were so in love.
Today... we still are, and even more.
I didn't think I could out-do my post from last year. But I saw something like this on a cousins' blog and thought it's be fun to do for an anniversary post.

I have lots to blog about, lots of picture, no time, sick kids. Soon... I just wanted to post the couple of funny things that Boo has said lately.

Boo was singing a song the other day...

Boo: "♪♫ Mary had a little lamb, who's police was white as snow ♫"

We were eating dinner tonight which was waffles with bacon and scrambled eggs. Breakfast for dinner - our favorite. We had just finished...

Boo: Mom, this was the best dinner ever. I just love it!
Me: Well thanks.
Boo: I especially love bacon.
Me: I like bacon too.
Bo: Me too.
**She then grabbed of the remaining pieces and walked away from the table.
Me: Whoa! No eating bacon in the living room.
Boo: But you do...
Me: No, I don't.
Boo: I saw you.
Me: When?
Boo: I don't know, you did.
Me: Okay...
Boo: When I'm older and a mom, I'm going to eat bacon in the living room.
Me: You do that.
Boo: I love Bacon, just like Sam (off the show ICarly on Disney), she loves bacon. And fried chicken!
**A couple minutes passed by... Boo grabbed another piece of bacon.
Boo: I just love bacon! I love it!!
Boo: .....can I have the rest?
Me: Suuuure...

We were watching some of the special features on Sleeping Beauty, one of which was a video clip of Walt Disney explaining the music in the movie.

Boo: Is that President Monson?
Me: No, his name is Walt Disney.
Boo: Why is that his name?
Me: I don't know, because it is.
Boo: But he's wearing clothes like President Monson.
Me: Yes, he's wearing a suit, but that's not the prophet, it's Walt Disney.
Boo: That's not a very good name for him.
Me: Why?
Boo: Because he's wearing those clothes.
Me: But his name is Walt Disney.
Boo: Okay. ....Are you sure it's not President Monson?
Me: Yes.

I found a box of "poppers", I don't know what the real name is, ya know, those little white things that you throw at the ground and they make a loud popping noise. Anyway, I found a box of them in my desk and let Boo have at them. She took them on the back porch and had a hay-day. After a few minutes outside...

Boo: Mom? What makes them pop?
Me: I'm not really sure, maybe you should ask your daddy when he gets home. He's smart and knows stuff like that. (I probably could've explained that it had something to do with gunpowder, but I left the explaining to her father).
Boo: Okay, I will when he gets home.
A few minutes passed...
Boo: MOM! MOM! I figured out what makes them pop!
Me: Oh yeah, what?
Boo: There's rocks inside it!!
Me: And that's what makes them pop?
Boo: Yep, rocks always make popping sounds!
Me: Well there ya go, you figured out the mystery.
Boo: I told you I knew why they popped!
Me: Yep, you sure told me. ☺
