Baby Look Alike

I find that when asked "Who does he look like?" people will usually say that the baby looks like the the parent that the person is more acquainted with. Like people in my family/friends would think he looks more like me, and people in Bo's family/friends would think he looks more like Bo. Although there can't be an exact match to either parent, we think there are more similarities to one parent. My dad would say "He's just a baby, he doesn't look like anyone." So here is the question posed to you, who does Rex look like?

Daddy?

Mommy?

Or Boo? (Who I personally think looks just like her daddy...)

"Wow, you look huge!"...

...isn't a nice thing to say to a pregnant woman, so why do people have the urge to say it so much?...

Still no baby...

Although I haven't really felt like blogging, I did have a couple picture that I thought I should post before I go on a baby-induced blogging vacation. Last week was Bo's birthday; it was nice and quiet which is just how we like it. Boo and I decided to make him a sign and surprise him when he got home from work.

And we made him his favorite cake - lemon cake with no frosting - and even had 28 candles on top, much to his protesting. We had to light them more than once; once for him and about 4 more times for Boo.

Here are a couple goofy pictures of Daddy and his little girl. They are so cute together.

This one is my favorite, I love her silly faces. (Bo is engrossed in watching Lost, he's addicted and catching up online - I think he's on season two)

She has such a cute little face, I just love her.

This picture was taken the other day when she was sick (she's feeling much better, thankfully!). It was one of her "Hey Mommy, take a picture of me" pictures. Look at that wild hair!

Since I randomly take pictures of my belly size for pregnancy documenting purposes, Boo wanted to take one of her. So here we are, Me - 39 weeks; Boo - Just cute with her wild hair.

I'm hoping my next post will say "He's here!" and have cute pictures of the new baby. Here's to hoping!! You can still vote on a name or predict when I'm going to have him... ☺

Keeping You in the Loop

No news yet on the baby front... (but hey, I'm only 39 weeks)

But I figured I should keep our blog as up-to-date as possible because I'm getting to the point of not answering the phone anymore. It's not that I don't want to talk to you, it's that I don't really want to talk to anyone. Everything that has been happening with my pregnancy is here, and other than that I don't have much to say nor am I a very pleasant conversation. So, if you want to know the status of the pregnancy/delivery, check here or on my pregnancy blog. As most of you know, both Bo and I have cell phones, and I have been answering text messages for the most part since they are much easier to answer, but don't be hurt if I ignore those at times as well. As far as I know, the hospital has Wi-Fi so we'll be able to post pictures as soon as he gets here and we do plan on texting people first when we have him. Stay tuned...

The only other news at our house is Boo, I've been being really careful to keep her from getting sick. Bo was recently sick and it lasted almost 2 weeks, he's still not 100% but definitely lots better. We've even been avoiding church, mostly since he was sick and I wasn't feeling good, but also in an effort to keep her from catching anything at church. But yesterday, since Bo was feeling better we decided that he would take her to church since it had been a couple weeks since she last went, and she loves church. So they went, she had a good time at church, they got home and about 2 hours after she got home she told me she was tired and went and laid down. She took a nap! That never happens. When she woke up she had a fever and proceeded to up-chuck. She's been sick since, almost 24 hours now, and has slept most of the last 24 hours. ...this is just not what I needed while I'm feeling achy and needing to deliver. But that's life, right? ..I should be being taken care of!, Right? ☺

*I was hoping to get caught up on blogging before the baby came, but I'm really doubting that will happen. I've got tons of pictures to post from our trip to Washington, and I'm still holding out hope to get them posted, but I'm not betting on it.

The Jungle Bathroom Reincarnate

I don't know how many people we told about the theme we were choosing in Boo's room since she will be sharing with the baby. I wanted something fun, but also gender neutral. We decided to go with a Jungle theme. In thinking of decorating ideas I had this "ingenious" idea to have my oh-so talented mother paint a mural on the wall. I called her up to see if she'd be will to do that for me, and because she's so wonderful she accepted probably before she realized just what I was asking. Because really, I had no idea what I was really asking... I tried to do some searches on the Internet to get an idea of what I wanted before she came. She came down a couple days before our trip to Washington (which I'm working to get blogged) and started this huge feat. We, I mean she, didn't get to finish before we left but after the trip she finished up the job. I think it turned out wonderful, much more than I expected, but I think it's fun and different. It reminds me of the "jungle bathroom" from my parents house that recently was painted over (some of you might remember my parents famous bathroom). Anyway, here are pictures from Boo's room. I know it's a lot of pictures, but I wanted to show it in all it's glory!

The artist hard at work (I wore her out working her to the bone, she called it slave-labor)

The want-to-be-artist who was always trying to help as much as she could

She helped paint the snake, the big frog, a monkey and a coconut or two

A couple of the animals up close (the elephant is turning on and off the light)

Larry the Lizard (my mom named him)

We had this snake named, but I can't remember what we called it. Steve? Sammy? I can't remember...

One of my mom's trade marks is painting small animals hidden in pictures. She used to include them a lot more than she does now, she did spiders, horny toads, and various other kinds of bugs. She decided to stick with the Jungle Bathroom memory and include a tarantula.

My mom painted these fish in memory of Bob & Dave, Boo's beta fish that are no longer with us... (don't ask... it's a sensitive subject... Okay, okay, Boo's mom just may have killed them... I guess that's what happens when you stop feeding them.... I'm pregnant, I can't be expected to remember to do everything...)

These monkeys are the comic joke of the room, it's really funny to hear Boo tell you what they are saying. She uses this really funny voice and narrates a whole conversation about the monkeys bartering food.

Boo wanted her bed next to the lion, so that's where she sleeps right now. But the room isn't working for me, so she may have to be moved to sleep next to the bartering monkeys or the snake.

I think the zebra is one of her favorites, she really has a hard time picking her favorite, and it changes everyday.

The finished product

So what do you think? Jealous that you don't have a jungle painted in your room, I thought so...
