Last week was a week for visitors around here.
Lydia made the journey from Tucson over here to visit. She hadn't intended to stay the night, but we got talking and talked late into the night so she stayed. Boo had a good time singing songs and playing with her.
While Lydia was here we had Jenny & Esther stop in and see us for a minute. They were down visiting Jake & Sally, so they made the "long" 3 block journey over to our house.
After the excitement of those visitors, Katie came down and stayed with us. Boo had a good time following her around and schmoozing her.
The last "visitors" we had didn't actually visit. We ran into my uncle David and aunt Rosanne at Walmart over the weekend. It was fun to see them and catch up a bit, and lucky for me I had my camera in my purse! Aren't they cute?!
Thanks for all the fun visits! Now, this week feels a little lonely after the exciting week we had!

1 Month Later...
I can't believe it's here already. Rex is a month old today! I have no idea where the last month went. It's not that it really flew by, but I haven't had enough sleep so it all just runs together like one long day. So no matter where it went, it's here and he's a month old now. Here's a picture taken today, isn't he getting so big and chunky.
I can't take a picture without including Boo. After taking a few pictures, Rex started to complain from all the flashes and Boo asked "why is he mad?" and I said "well, he doesn't really like taking pictures." Then she said "Well, I like taking pictures!"

Preppy Baby?... :)
I've not had much time to be updating so I'm taking the few spare minutes to post some pictures. I can't get over how cute this little one is, and the onsie he's in is so cute too.
These are just two of the cutest kids!
He goes cross-eyed every once in a while, it makes me giggle.
And I'm trying to be fair in my picture taking, I don't want to just photograph Rex, so here's a spare shot of Boo in her cute-ness.
Until the next time I find a few spare minutes....

The Snuggle Bugs
I figured it was time for an update. I finally finished my delivery post on my pregnancy blog, click here to read it, but be warned it includes full delivery details...
Life is moving along in the Lee house. We are sorta settling into a routine. Basically that routine consists of just functioning. Rex is doing good, eating and sleeping good, he's just not sleeping in his crib yet. Nor is he sleeping at the right time. He likes to sleep all day and not at night. Well, he sleeps at night, just not like he does during the day. I've also come to notice the differences in my babies. Boo liked to be swaddled, wrapped up tight and didn't mind sleeping in her crib. Rex on the other hand doesn't want to be wrapped, he likes his hands up by his face, but he has to be warm and snugly. I'm enjoying how cuddly he is, I probably hold him too much, but hey, they don't stay this small forever!
Boo is doing good. She really likes Rex, she's constantly wanting to hold him, mostly when I'm in the middle of nursing. She's taken it upon herself to be his wardrobe specialist and gets very upset when I choose his clothes instead of her. She also picks his diaper at changing time (since they have characters on them) and also disposes of the dirty diaper. She's always willing to go and get what ever I need whether it's something for him or something I need. It's really been helpful.
Last Saturday we had the fortunate happen-stance that both our kids were asleep at the same time! And maybe Bo and I would've gotten a nap too, but right after Boo fell asleep while cuddling with Bo, Bo got called out to work and was gone for the rest of the day. So I got a few minutes of peace to clean up a few things.
We've had some visitors. A few friends from here, but also Grandma Debbie and Dee came to see us. We had lunch with them and visited, it was nice to see them!
So on that note, we are feeling up to visitors, just be sure to call first to make sure we're home and dressed!

She's also had a lot of time with her daddy since Rex got here. They are buddies. I'm not always available to help her so she's become very independent and so close with Bo. It's wonderful to watch them. She's also trying to get away with anything she can. She's constantly asking to stay up later, and also to sleep in our bed. Since I'm usually up with Rex nursing, she tries to squirm her way into my side of the bed by sweet talkin' her daddy. It usually works...

Hair! Who needs it?!
Apparently we do. ...if only we all would just shave our heads...
I don't know why I decided to do this with Boo's pregnancy, but I didn't cut my hair during the whole pregnancy, I guess just to see just how long I could grow it. So when I got pregnant with Rex I decided I'd do it again but document just how long it grew. I first posted about it here, but here are the comparison pictures again. This picture was taken last June, a year ago. (I know I'm not pregnant here, but it was my shortest hair cut that I'd had in a long time.)
Here are the two pictures, me at 12 weeks, and me today-2 weeks postpartum.
I also don't dye my hair while I'm pregnant, not really for any reason, but I did have a girl at my last job tell me that if you dye your hair while you're pregnant your child will come out with that color hair. I don't know if I believe her, but ya never know! I actually hadn't dyed it for quite some time before getting pregnant, I think the last time was before I moved last, almost 2 years ago. So I figure it's time to shake things up. So what should I do with my hair? Leave it long? Cut it? Dye it? Dye it and cut it? Here's a view of a couple of different hairstyles I've had, but I'm open to suggestions!
Me Now, Long & Natural color:
Me short, natural color color:
Me Red & medium length layered: (Bo is voting for red, it's been his favorite. He doesn't care about length, but I'd probably keep it long)
This is a lighter red/brown:
Me with blonde in it: (Just highlights, I don't think I'd ever go totally blonde...)
And this is the last color I dyed it, it was like an auburn color but turned dark brown after a couple weeks:
I was tempted to do a dark color this time around, like the darkest brown, where it looks almost black, but I don't know. I don't mind the red color, it's just a lot of up keep but not as much as blonde. The blonde is way too much up keep, but I'd do them again. As for the cut, I'm looking for suggestions, but I may not cut it... I'm kind of enjoying the length, but with being a new mom, I may be tired of it by tomorrow. So, who knows! Hopefully, you do...

Pretty long, eh? I measured the little diamond on my overalls and from my estimations I think my hair grew about 5 1/2 inches in 7 months. Wow. And if you measure it against the short hair picture which is exactly a year ago, it looks like it's grown almost a foot in a year. I wonder what the average growth rate is... Google says the average is 1/2 inch per month... interesting...

Baby Look Alike
I find that when asked "Who does he look like?" people will usually say that the baby looks like the the parent that the person is more acquainted with. Like people in my family/friends would think he looks more like me, and people in Bo's family/friends would think he looks more like Bo. Although there can't be an exact match to either parent, we think there are more similarities to one parent. My dad would say "He's just a baby, he doesn't look like anyone." So here is the question posed to you, who does Rex look like?
Daddy?
Mommy?
Or Boo? (Who I personally think looks just like her daddy...)

"Wow, you look huge!"...
...isn't a nice thing to say to a pregnant woman, so why do people have the urge to say it so much?...
Still no baby...
Although I haven't really felt like blogging, I did have a couple picture that I thought I should post before I go on a baby-induced blogging vacation. Last week was Bo's birthday; it was nice and quiet which is just how we like it. Boo and I decided to make him a sign and surprise him when he got home from work.
And we made him his favorite cake - lemon cake with no frosting - and even had 28 candles on top, much to his protesting. We had to light them more than once; once for him and about 4 more times for Boo.
Here are a couple goofy pictures of Daddy and his little girl. They are so cute together.
This one is my favorite, I love her silly faces. (Bo is engrossed in watching Lost, he's addicted and catching up online - I think he's on season two)
She has such a cute little face, I just love her.
This picture was taken the other day when she was sick (she's feeling much better, thankfully!). It was one of her "Hey Mommy, take a picture of me" pictures. Look at that wild hair!
Since I randomly take pictures of my belly size for pregnancy documenting purposes, Boo wanted to take one of her. So here we are, Me - 39 weeks; Boo - Just cute with her wild hair.
